Positive Lives

Positive Lives is a professional coaching practice that offers career coaching, personal development and leadership coaching.

I've always loved the meaning of curriculum vitae - the flow of life.  Yet somehow I can't reconcile this lovely and inspiring  phrase with its physical manifestation - two to three pages of typewritten A4, a chronological list of dates, qualifications and salaries.

At some mythical career crossroads, this document could be a wonderful statement of knowing, learning and mastery - as you move from one career milestone to the next.

Yet, we know that people right now are pounding their keyboards, in a desperate attempt to bury the awful truth - that their CV is utterly indistinguishable from hundreds of others.

Time to return to the original meaning - time to explore the flow of your life.  Using a Life Mapping technique, people discover new insights and strength from mapping their growth, learning and challenges.

Combine this with Strengths profiing (I use Strengthsfinder 2.0 with my coaching clients), and you will have a rich language with which to articulate your suitability for your next job.

Pure indulgence?  I think not.  Struggling on in an unsuitable and unrewarding job will result in stress, and impact on your family and indeed your employability.

By understanding your strengths and values, you will gain a renewed confidence in your unique abilities and talents.  A CV written with this conviction will surely stand out from all the rest.
