Walking the Stories – a Power of Stories Event

Celebrating 100 Years of International Women's Day – Sunday 6th March 2011, Chester

Walking and learning is a traditional practice in many cultures. Since time immemorial and across the world, women share conversations and stories as they walk together – to fields and farms, to the well, or to the market-place.

Walking the Stories is a unique blend of two traditional and powerful practices, mentoring and story-telling. Inspired by the women of Ghana and their Mentoring Walks, Lisa Rossetti brings Walking the Stories to women in the North West.

Walking the Stories invites women of all ages to celebrate International Women's Day by walking together in the beautiful and historic Chester River Meadows. You will have the opportunity during the walk to have a free taster mentoring conversation with a trained business coach-mentor about your development issues.

The Walk: Meet 1pm outside the Riverside (formally the Cheshire County Hall). Depending on your level of fitness, the Meadows Walk is an easy 40-minutes walk along adopted countryside pathways by the River Dee. Comfortable walking shoes essential. Not suitable for wheelchairs.

The Stories: Story-practitioners Lizzie Gates and Lisa Rossetti will facilitate a story-telling event celebrating women's Hope, Courage and Resilience through the centuries.

The Venue: Riverside, Castle Drive Chester, Cheshire CH1 1SG

How to Book: £20 (includes light refreshments, a free taster of mentoring during the walk, and the story-telling event).
